Dayton, Ohio--- On September 1st, the Wright State University Hockey Team will be hosting a beach volleyball fundraiser at Scene 75 starting at 5PM. WSU Hockey is a non-profit club and due to budget cuts, we need your help to make sure the team remains affordable and operational for our student-athletes.
Scott Humes, the President of Wright State University’s Hockey Team, was a key contributor to getting the fundraiser set up. He mentions “Setting up a fundraiser is truly a group effort. Without the help of several members of the team, this wouldn’t be possible. With that being said, we are happy that we were able to choose an event that can appeal to many different audiences. We are hoping to raise enough money to help keep the players’ due down. We are in a bit of a rebuilding stage at the moment so keeping dues down goes a long way in getting players to play.” While serving as the President of the team, Scott is also a key player. With his unique story about helping the US deaf team bring home gold two summers ago, hockey players from all different backgrounds can be confident that they can make a difference on the team as well.
In order to participate in this great event, please sign up on our official Volleyball Registration form. The fundraiser will cost between $8 to $15 per person depending on the team package used. Teams will consist of 5 people per team.
Tournament format will be announced depending on the amount of teams.
